Cattis brought this wonderful book to work the other day. It is so nice, both because of the illustrations and because it lives a little gallophile in me. My husband and I fantasize about how it will be when the kids have moved out; how we sell the house and move to a little place in Provence. My picture of it is very clichéd but ever since I saw Jean de Florette and lived a year in France, I love it.

I went to my first puppy class this week and it was interesting to see all the different dogs and their owners.. I couldn´t help thinking about Görells Hundskola (a sketch by the wonderful Swedish comidians Mia och Klara).
Illustrations from different old children´s books from my book shelf and my own dog.
I bought several Husmoderns Köksalmanacka (housewife calendar) from the 50´s and the 60´s when I was out with Nilla on the flea market weekend. I have to say that I don´t agree with the values from the 50´s where the woman were a houswife but I love these books. All the women look so perfect but you keep having Julianne Moore in The Hours in mind. I buy them for the illustrations. But you should see my rhubarb pie that was done by nine this morning (it´s only becuse my puppy wakes up so early and my parents are coming over).
A little inteview with me here.
In my calender it is the World Book Day today. Here´s my collection of old small Pixi-books. I love them, they are really small and cheap, a good idea.
I have so many notes everywhere of things I would like to do; paintings, products, fabrics etc. That is the freelances dilemma. You work on your own because you have a job that you love, but you can´t say no to jobs so your own ideas often ends up in the drawer. I think it is good to have one project on your own per year. Last year I did all my portraits; I wonder what I shall do this year?
Detail illustrations from an old idea that I maybe should bring back to life.
